Welcome to the World

Scott and Debbie Verduin, some of our good friends, had their first baby on June 23, 2005. Her name is Alexis Lynn Verduin and she is a cutie-check out more pictures of her at www.verduin.com. She was 10lbs 5 oz and 22 inches long and yes Debbie delivered her naturally-way to go Deb. We took the kids over to see Lexi yesterday and they were so excited. Rachel gave her tons of kisses and Allison just kept saying how beautiful she was. Tyler got a little action himself-yes Lexi had her first kiss from a boy. We can't wait to watch her grow. Congratulations Scott and Deb. Welcome to parenthood!

9 months old today

Tyler Ryan McMullen is 9 months old today and I cannot believe it. Where does the time go, it seems like just yesterday we brought him home from the hosiptal. What a joy he has been in our lives. I have to admit I was really nervous about having a boy. I remember asking Becky, "what do you do with a boy?" Of course at this point there really is not a lot of difference between him and the girls, except of course the parts. He started crawling about 2 weeks ago and then just this last weekend started pulling up to stand. Yesterday I found him on the second step. He seems to be doing the gross motor things much quicker than the girls did. Of course he has his sisters and Abby and Jacob to keep up with. He is such a lover boy, that is probably one of my favorite things about him. He loves to hug and give kisses (the full mouth kind) and just likes to be with you. Of course him wanting to be with you can cause problems at times, cause when he is not within eye shot of someone he thinks the world is ending and lets you know it. Funny how one of your favorite things can also be the thing that drives you the most crazy. I cannot wait to see what his personality is like and the man that he becomes. I know I know (Callenders) we have no pictures right now, we don't have a digital camera yet so we have to scan pictures in and Daryl has our scanner at work. I promise I will post a picture of this adorable little boy soon!

Is it summer or what?

So what to do when it is HOT out and the kids are begging you to do something, so we thought we might as well try and stay as cool as possible. What a better way to do that then to spend the day at Grandma Sandy's pool. What a perfect day to be in water all day. Tyler had his first experience in a pool and he loved it, of course the pool was a nice 87 degrees, he played on the step and had a good ole time. Allison swam like a fish all day, we could barely get her out of the pool. Rachel on the other hand decided to take a nap instead of swimming. She has something against floaties, kids....... Daryl and I are tired, a little sunburned and ready for bed. Somehow a day full of sitting in the sun does that to you.

Welcome to the McMullen family blog. We thought this might be a good way to keep up with family and friends and hey everyone else is doing it right......yes we finally gave in to peer pressure. So let us know what you think and keep checking back. We will try and keep you as updated as possible.
